In 2015, we had the pleasure of hosting the two groups of artists at the Light Grey Art Camp to Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park -- a creative journey through some of the otherworldly landscapes of Utah.
We hiked through the colorful canyons and natural pillars of Bryce Canyon -- exploring the striped earth towers above us in shapes resembling both man and beast. We attended the 15th Annual Astronomy festival, night-sky lectures, and stargazed at distant galaxies through dozens of high-powered telescopes.
In second half of our trip, we visited Zion National Park where we hiked and swam through The Narrows River. The majestic canyons and cool water made a perfect backdrop for plein air painting, sketching, and discussions. Our evenings were filled with stargazing, bon fires, workshops, and mini lessons on astronomy, astrology, and reading birth charts and planetary alignment.
"It was an insightful, inspiring, and amazing trip - I loved looking through the massive telescopes and peering on star clusters in deep space! I also enjoyed hiking and spending time with all of the other artists!"
This program included content, keynote lectures, and special night activities in coordination with the 15th Annual Astronomy festival at Bryce Canyon National Park. We attended the festival to hear more about the cosmos, stories of the constellations, learn about science in astronomy, and growth together under the night sky.
