Light Grey Art Lab is pleased to be hosting 24 Hour Comics Day 2017! Join us as we neglect sleep and sensibility to create incredible improvisations in the world of comics!
If you've never heard of 24 Hour Comics Day, it's a massive annual event held for over 10 years in venues around the world. Artists from coast to coast and beyond get together and attempt to create a 24 page comic in 24 hours. You can find more information on their official website here: http://www.24hourcomicsday.com/
Join us at Light Grey for a cozy and friendly atmosphere, gallery walls full of inspiration, complimentary coffee and tea, and movies and music to keep us going all night. We're located within walking distance of both the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and Eat Street, so there are plenty of opportunities to stretch your legs and get a breath of fresh air in between pages.
Whether you're a seasoned cartoonist or have never drawn a comic before, now is a great time to execute lifelong ideas, try something totally new, or just create something fun and simple! Anyone is welcome, so bring your best buds and favorite materials and let's create something together!
If 24 hours is too much, or if you have other obligations, don't worry! Anyone is free to stop by for as long as they'd like, and leave whenever they need to. 24 pages in 24 hours is the challenge, but it's important to know what's safe and healthy for each individual.
