Meet COSMOS Artist, Kate O’Hara

Meet Kate O’Hara, another awesome artist featured in the upcoming Cosmos show! Kate is a freelance illustrator currently living in Reno, Nevada. She graduated from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Her work is beautifully detailed, has nostalgic undertones, and mainly focuses on the interaction of plants and animals in nature. To experience more of Kate’s work drop by her website, kate-ohara.com, and blog, kateoharaillustration.tumblr.com and make sure to catch her Lepus piece in the Cosmos show opening October 30th!

For the COSMOS Tarot & Oracle Deck, Kate illustrated a piece for the constellation Lepus. In the deck, it represents the Two Card and is an Air Element.

Lepus
End of Naivety

Lepus is the rabbit often associated with the myth of Orion. His hunting dogs pursue Lepus across the night sky in an endless chase. Rabbits represent swiftness, agility, and naivety. They were often considered one of the most elusive prey, and therefore were prized hunting quarry for nobles in ancient times.

This card depicts Lepus caught in the jaws of one of Orion’s hunting dogs. In a reading, this card represents the end of innocence and an introduction to the realities of the world. It may manifest itself through personal trials, “coming of age” experiences, or in an elusive truth being revealed at last.

Reversed, Lepus indicates a particularly rocky learning experience. A sense of perspective may be gained regardless of whether the lessons came as a surprise, through hardship, or through failure.

You can find out more information about this project on the Light Grey Website and pre-order the Tarot & Oracle Deck on the Light Grey Shop here:
